Proud to work for the NHS with great colleagues. A healthcare system which belongs to the people, where everyone gets equal access to healthcare regardless of means. Where I never have to ask a patient what they can afford, if they have insurance or anything else which I didn't study medicine for. It was the 72nd birthday of the NHS yesterday, and this is being honoured by @thepeoplespicture at Piccadilly Circus.

The feral parakeets of London's parks love figs and apples. Any place you see a fig tree, they are going crazy on it.
No one knows where they call came from - did Jimi Hendrix release them in 1968? Did they escape from the filmset of the African Queen in 1951...? Did they escape from aviaries after the Great Storm of 1987? No one knows for sure. There's now tens of thousands of them in London and they are cheeky as.

Melanin is such an amazing complex polymer. The impact it has on our lives and our societies....
According to our DNA on @23andme, my younger brother and I are much closer genetically than average siblings.
Yet for some reason, his genes which code for melanocytes produce a lot less melanin than mine did.
So I've been seen as exotic, whereas he hasn't.
And conversely, I've been tailed for 20 minutes by a car shouting at me for being a n*gger then a p*ki (the day before I started my first clinical medicine rotation in Peterborough), I've been informed whilst doing my duty as a doctor that i'm a "filthy Arab", I've been assaulted at a football match for "not belonging here".
I was even been informed whilst raising money for homeless in Cambridge as a first year student that I'm a "scrounging asylum seeker". My younger brother hasn't had this, and I wouldn't want it any other way. And my experiences pale completely in comparison with what others go through, every day of their life! I'm really lucky.

It feels surreal that in 2020, the amount of melanin in your skin can have such an impact on your life experiences. That you can be a caring, loving innocent person and just get hatred stuffed in your face like that. It doesn't have to be this way..., We need to change.

Two geese families in Battersea Park (first pic) and Hyde park (second pic) who I try to feed when doing the daily fitness-building post-Covid cycle/jog.
The ones in Battersea park are really hands-on with their slightly older offspring but the Hyde Park ones are really chill, they don't give a shi, I guess even goose parents vary.

Is it just me, or do Egyptian geese couple up more than any other waterfowl? They are always in pairs, have only seen one adult on his own. Any goose experts here? The male also makes a hissing sound just like a Muscovy duck (lovers' quarrel going on in the video I think)
